Mikronesia - Go.Sleep.Repeat

Recorded in the Winter of 2003. A very atmospheric and organic album. Many of the tracks have droney mechanical sounds in the back ground with lighter organic instruments playing melodies other places in the mix. As the title implies, its a nice album to listen to while trying to take a nap or other times you need something minimal.

Mikronesia - Greetings From Cubeland

A collection of tracks that lived on five or six different computers. Some of the tracks were done on company computers, laptops (one was stolen, so be on the lookout for renegade remixes), room-mates PCs, friend's Macs. Many of the tracks have dark melodies and samples over skittering and slow bleepy beats and percussion. Some of the tracks have mashed up vocals that are samples of people from Mikronesia's life like the venerable Flakes, on "Earth Two" and Megan on "Moisturizing Vehicle"

Robots in Disguise - Too Much Electricity

Robots in Disguise's first full length studio album. They starting work on this album after a hectic touring schedule in 2001. The Robots retreated to Folcroft Studios in Delaware County, PA with Joe Bowie (Nomad) and his crew of producers and engineers programming synths, drum machine, computers and anything with keys to make this shimmering, sample-heavy, electo-breakbeat LP that was described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as, "an ecstatic electronic symphonic sheen of samples, silver strings, robo-voices, and freaky rubber rhythms perfect for headphone-listening and nonstop dancing..." Robots in Disguise - roboep

By early 2001 Robots' had started to generate quite a buzz around the city. They were playing a lot of really good shows with national acts at the Trocadaro and the TLA. When this album was started, Tony G. had been drumming with Robots for a few weeks and they were finally working the two DJs thing to perfection. Tony called Mikronesia and Plunkit one April afternoon out of the blue and told them to meet him at 3rd and Catherine and look for a bright red door to record with this engineer he met that day. They walked through that red door into Jazzy Jeff's downstairs 'Matrix studios' with Joe Bowie at the helm. John, Tony and Mike recorded the base tracks in under and hour. Joe and Mikronesia would then spend days and days chopping up the base tracks and building structure out the sounds of "Mind Control". "Brain" was recorded at Longview and Turtle studios, both known for amazing albums and production by live rock/world/jazz/folk/rap acts, so Robots were their first forays into live electronics. "Dolphin" and "Sister Nancy" are from different live shows in the spring of 2001.

V/A - Grape Street Pub Compilation CD - Vol 1

Back when the Grape Street was on Grape Street and before Y100... The Grape Street Pub was a great place to catch a diverse blend of independent artists and songwriters. Zigabu played one of their first shows there in Feb. 1999 and continued to played there about once a month (as did Robots in Disguise) until the club moved to Main St. in 2003. Zigabü was included in this eclectic CD of rock and singer/songwriter type music as the de facto "experimental" act to close the disc.

GSP Records

Zigabü (1998-2000) was a jam band quartet incorporating jazzy guitar, spacey keys and samples, funk bass, driving beats and schizophrenic vocals. Soon after it's release in Feb. 2000 the band called it quits. They split off to form Robots in Disguise and Z in June 2000.
