Serpents as Doves

Gemini Wolf’s fifth release is a collection of hard hitting analog dance pop that eventually gives way to it’s own droney undertows. The first two songs sail along with soaring vocals over chunky beats and a maze of arpeggios. By the second half of the EP things get a little more dark and moody. “Empty Houses” recalls early 80’s post-punk minimal electronica. The title track is an expansive sea of swirling drones, vocoded vocals and shimmery textures all of which were aided by post-production help from Miner Street’s Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey during a very creative mixing session at their studio in Fishtown.
